“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”
– Alice Walker
> What we have to offer:
We’re discovering a language that’s useful for functioning in a world that attempts to track and monetize our Personal business without our willing consent. We are here to share this language freely, or at cost, with Persons who may find it useful in their Personal lives.
We know that the problem with the current system is rooted in the tech industry’s standard policies, terms, and conditions. We don’t have to agree to any of them. This is one of our most fundamental human rights. Instead, we can stand firmly in our own legal Expectation of Privacy and we can hold the industry accountable to it. We can expect governments to stand up for us, as well, because history has shown that any digital data collected from us exposes us to unnecessary risk.
Given the establishment’s proven modus operandi, every Person shall have the right to request paper-only record-keeping whenever that Person participates in society. Upon opting in, given the establishment’s complete failure to ensure proper chains-of-custody, these Persons shall be guaranteed absolute immunity from any digitization of their records. By Personal request, governments shall order and enforce the blanket deletion of all Personal and Interpersonal information, both direct and extrapolated, linked to that Person. Governments shall also require a working ‘I do not agree’ button next to every ‘I agree’ button anywhere the industry proposes monetizing what that Person may consider to be sacred. By default, any system must collect zero Personal bits, store zero, and analyze zero.
The solutions must be systemic, and shall not be left to any form of self-policing of the establishment by the establishment. For digital interactions where a Person must participate by name or identifiable characteristics, administering the encryption device shall be a Judicial function, and shall report only to Judicial power. We are not mere target consumers, actuarial figures, or lab rats. We are People and we will be respected as People. Without reasonable cause, we do not consent to being tracked, profiled, stereotyped, or discriminated for or against, in any way. Subjecting us to any system that is capable of viewing us as potential threats is the true Act of Terror.
> Useful Phrases:
Simply say: “I’ve never had any time for social media.”
Simply say: “I don’t have time for smartphones.”
When questioned in a different way, say: “I’d get smart phone, but I have yet to find the right man-bag to tote it around with.”
When questioned, say: “I carry a calls-only flip phone so I can throw it in a bag with the rest of my tools and not have to think about it.”
When someone suggests an app, say: “I do appreciate the suggestion but, the last time I checked, apps were only available through Apple or Google, and I support neither company.”
When the conversation turns to toxic tech, say: “I don’t have time for the whole smartphone scam. I have carried them before, and I’ve found that they only detract from the richness of life.”
When someone aims a device camera at you without first asking for your consent, make the ‘sign of the cross’ with your two middle fingers, and hold the sign up between your face and the device.
When someone asks to take your photo say: “No. I am flattered, but digital photos make me feel cheap.” If they inquire further, say: “I know how digital information is handled. In other words, every time I have consented to a digital photo in the past, I’ve felt a little bit more of my soul being sucked out of me. If you had had film-only in the camera I may have considered it.”
When asked: “What do you have to hide?”, say: “I have nothing to hide. My life is an open book, but it is not for sale to my enemies.”
When asked: “Why don’t you use social media?”, say “Some time ago, when a friend first suggested it to me, I looked it up, stopped at the “Agree” button, read the contract, did a bit of research, and concluded that my agreement would constitute an act of treason against myself, against my friends, and against any acquaintances I may search for through the system, so I decided against it. From a legal perspective, the contract constituted what I rightly foresaw as a surrender, through the private sector, of my right to remain secure in my person. How could I ever agree to such terms and live with myself?”
When you run across a listening device, tell it: “Hello ______ (insert one or more: Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, etc, and all powers behind you). I have charged, tried, and convicted you of perhaps the greatest ‘crime against humanity’ of this age, and I hereby sentence you to death by boycott.”
At any private gathering, during introductions, say: “I would appreciate it if everyone would deactivate any imaging or listening devices you may have. Please don’t just assume that everyone here has agreed to the same terms and conditions you have through your devices. Not everyone has, and those folks may not appreciate being forced into such systems against their will.”
“Interesting, that’s not the first time I’ve heard that term (rabbit hole), and it has me a little confused. I have sufficiently educated myself on this topic. I have no fear and I act purely out of principle. In fact, most of the time I feel free, like I am basking in the sunlight of the spirit. Sadly, though, many people around me still appear to have their heads buried in the sand.”
When the cashier asks for a name for the order, say: “I’d prefer it if you chose one.” When they do, kindly accept the name they chose as a compliment, then remember the name until you get your order.
As required, at customer service, say: “Excuse me, I am cash only and I don’t talk to machines, so where can I check out?” If they do not accommodate, leave your the product for them to restock and say: “Okay, thank you for letting me know. I’ll take my business elsewhere.”
When the cashier asks for a loyalty number, phone number, or e-mail address, say: “Unlisted.”
If the cashier continues with some statement involving the word(s) “warranty” or “if you lose your receipt”, say: “I keep my own records, paper only, and I do not lose my receipts.”
When filling out any and paperwork (e.g. medical, employment) that asks for information that is not directly applicable to the task at-hand, waste neither your time nor the processor’s time by simply striking through irrelevant sections and writing in “N/A.”
Upon turning in any paperwork for medical/dental/vision attention, tell the recipient: “By the way, I’d appreciate a paper copy of everything I’ve physically signed and, for the record, you do not have my consent to enter any information about me into any computer system. I know your system and it is not secure.” They may or may not respond, but either way, you may want to be prepared with this one: “Oh, okay, maybe you could just enter this statement verbatim into your computer system: “You do not have my consent to enter any information about me into any computer system.” Would that be possible? … Thank you so much for you attention to this matter.”
“One need only consider two things when dealing with so-called Artificial Intelligence: (a) the complete absence of useful information on the web, as anything useful has been drowned out by whatever the system wants to sell us; and (b) the principle of garbage in, garbage out.”
“Relying upon God’s algorithm, plain and simple, and being immune from any marketing bias, has led me to true Enlightenment, and I’d like to stay here. Whenever possible I am word-of-mouth only, drop-ins only, and cash only because, in my experience, that is where the true magic of life resides.”
“I am a Virtual Environmentalist. I do everything I can to minimize unnecessary signal transmissions, storage space, and processing energy.”
> Victory Day:
On October 10, 2024, the United States Copyright Office effectively declared the following statement to be public property: “This Person, and all characteristics hereof, are the exclusive property of this Person. Any images, recordings, accounts, or interpretations of this Person, by anything other than this Person, are strictly prohibited.”
…or, in machine language:
In the United States of America, and in English, any Person is authorized to reprint and/or embed the above statement in their Personal data / information as legal armor against the outright sale of and/or the blind (to the Person) and open-ended chain-licensing of Personal data and information.
We are a group of People who disagree with the way digital information is handled. From phone / text records to biometric / psychometric information, and the rest of it, we’ve seen enough news of breaches over the years to know that nothing digital is secure and that, given the trajectory of technological advancement, nothing digital ever will be secure.
The commercial influence behind the tech age, with its practice of collecting and sharing our Personal data for its own profit, has initiated a fundamental shift in power from the People to the establishment and to whomever owns the establishment. We, therefore, peacefully withhold our consent to any collection of our Personal data by anyone or anything, regardless of whether or not it is deemed by anyone else to be personally-identifiable. This is a human rights issue, not one of social policy.
We have a right remain secure in our Persons, we expect zero exposure, and we question the legitimacy of any so-called authority that does not enforce this Expectation. Our collective sovereignty is too important to be compromised as it is, from the inside-out.
